TOWN OF RAYMOND

NOTICE TO CONTROL NOXIOUS WEEDS

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY given pursuant to Section 66.0407 Wisconsin Statutes, to each owner, occupant or person in control of all private lands within the boundaries of the Town of Raymond, this it is their duty to destroy all noxious weeds prior to the time such plants mature to bloom or flower stage.

Weeds must be destroyed in recorded subdivisions at least once during each of the following periods of time:  Between June 7-15 and July 24 – August 1 of each year.

Noxious weeds are defined in Section 66.0407, Wisconsin Statutes and shall include Canada Thistle, Leafy Spurge & Field Bindweed (Creeping Jenny).

Pursuant to the Town of Raymond Ordinance, Section 38-41, defines noxious weeds as those listed in State Statute 66.66.0407(b) and unsightly and troublesome plants which are detrimental to cultivated crops, public health & welfare and to general appearance of the surrounding area, or such uncultivated rant plants which create unpleasant or noxious odors to grow to such height as to permit the concealment of filthy deposits.

Failure to comply with Ordinance 38-41 to destroy or control noxious weeds will result in Town Weed Commissioner, Scott Brenton to proceed in accordance with Section 66.0407 of the Wisconsin State Statutes.

Failure to destroy or control weeds may result in the charges being placed on the tax roll to the person notified to cut or destroy weeds pursuant to the Town of Raymond Ordinance, Section 38-44.
